No one knows what's behind a closed door until you open it and go inside. Sometimes, the people that we become infatuated with are really not as extraordinary as we think. And sometimes the realities of schooling, job opportunities, and relocations that we believed would change our lives for the better, really don't match our expectations.
Whichever path we choose, we make decisions as best as we can, based on the information that's available to us at the time. Life goes on, and there will always be more unknown doors for us to investigate. Expectation is a silly story I came up with that tries to capture the absurdity of projecting our hopes onto the unknown.
